PRAYING FOR
OUR CHURCH
September:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus' gives a pretty tall order to his Church after rising from the dead. Rather than giving in to the temptation to minimize or water down this great commission, we must choose to receive it and give all our efforts to fulfilling it.
We Need Help
As a local expression of the body of Christ, we admit our great need for Jesus' help if we are going to fulfill Jesus' command for the Church of all ages. The best programs, most prestigious education, talented individuals and most committed servants are not enough to take on such a task. We need to pray. We need God's provision, his guidance, his protection, and his empowerment if we are to fulfill this command and shine like a city on a hill in this world.

That's why we are devoting the month of September to praying for our church. Over these few weeks, we will commit to praying for Irving Church's leadership, programs, influence, and congregation.
